The 2014 Senate elections were held on November 4th 2014. Like previous years, the elections sported many vulnerable Democrats in deeply red states. This, coupled with the haphazard Affordable Care Act roll out resulted in a sizable Republican wave. Minority Leader and Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell, was elected Majority Leader.
