Discord Era[]
Donald Trump's Presidency[]
Following U.S. President Donald Trump's inauguration, relations between the U.S. and Mexico soured. The Mexican government openly opposed President Trump's policies, including his policy to have a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, which Mexico would pay for. The wall did fail, and relations between the U.S. and Mexico improved.
2020's[]
With its current fighter jet (F-5) at the time being essentially obsolete, A "modernization" of the Mexican Air Force was initiated with an immediate purchase of four MiG-29 "Fulcrums" from the former Russian Federation.
Also in the 2020's, Mexico's last drug kingpin, Ismael Zambada García, was arrested and incarcerated. He was found in Argentina after an intense manhunt for the drug lord. He was then extradited to Mexico where he was tried and sentenced to life in prison.
