The European Union, abbreviated as the EU, is an economic and political union of 38 sovereign states in Europe.

Post-Brexit[]
Following Brexit in 2019, the European Union's economy fell and many member states experienced a recession. Greece was hit the hardest, already having a declining economy, they even held a referendum to secede from the EU. Known as "Grexit", only 44% of the population voted to secede, leaving Greece to stay in the EU.
By 2028, after a 9-year recession, the economy finally recovered.
New Member States[]
Although Britain left, many new members eventually joined. These include of Serbia (in 2021), Montenegro (in 2023), Turkey (in 2028), Flanders (in 2033), Wallonia (in 2033), Brussels (in 2033), Albania (in 2035), Macedonia (in 2038), Bavaria (in 2041), Iceland (in 2053), and Greenland (in 2068).
