The referendum question, which voters answered with "Yes" or "No", was "Should Texas be an independent country once more?" The "Yes" side won in a landslide, with 3,328,456 voting in favor of in independence and 2,555,287 voting against. the turnout of 97.8% was the highest recorded for an election in the United States since the 2052 presidential election.
