The Sino-Philippine War, Second Spratly War or Philippine invasion of China was a brief military conflict fought mainly between the People's Republic of China and the National Democratic Republic of the Philippines. It is also known as Operation New Freedom (Tagalog: Oplan Bagong Kalayaan) for its invasion Phase. It was launched on May 14, 2027, after the Chinese People's Liberation Army dropped leaflets calling for rebellion against the Philippine government and the NDP on the island of Palawan following the Shenzhen Airlines flight 2108 shootdown.

A Missile launched from the Philippine Navy frigate, BPH San Jaime Sin during the first round of air strikes in the South China Sea.


At 02:21 (2:21 am CST), the Philippine Air Force conducted the first round of air strikes over major Chinese cities from their air bases in the National Democratic Republics of Hainan and South Borneo. Also, the Philippine Protectorate of Hong Kong. The Philippine Air Force targeted major cities across eastern China including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, etc. Most of the targets were military bases and government offices. Tianjin sustained the most damage as Filipino forces bombed the Port of Tianjin where the PLA Naval Academy is located as well as ships from the PLA Navy's North Sea fleet. In Beijing, most damaged occurs on the Xicheng district where most government offices including the Communist Party headquarters and the Great Hall of the People.

May 14, 2027[]

On 08:00 (8:00 CST), units from the Philippine 1st Army, Philippine 48th Regiment, and the EDSA Revolutionary Guards landed by boat in the shores of Tianjin followed by the Philippine 1st Army. Meanwhile, the Philippine 6th Army lead by General Warren Dagupon landed in Shanghai; Philippine

10th Army lead by General  Lawrence Louis Somera which landed in Qingdao; and Philippines 12th Army lead by General  Jose Enrico Dingle who landed in Xiamen. The plan was to capture these cities and use them as a hub for the main invasion port. However, upon arrival, all four army groups experienced fierce resistance from a weakened Chinese Army and fighters from the Philippine Republican Army.
