The Second Great Depression was an event that occurred from the year 2096 to the year 2110, with the worst of those years from 2097 to 2106. It was caused almost entirely by the United Nations Civil War, but there are other factors that caused the depression.
The end of the United Nations Civil War[]
After the end of the United Nations Civil War in 2096, the United States, the European Union, and the Peoples' Republic of China were left in a bit of a pickle.
China[]
The situation in China came from the Russian Orbital Strikes against China killing at least 400 Million Chinese people. The resulting EMP strikes against the major Chinese Cities literally turned some cities in China into glass. As a result, millions of people were forced out of work, and since China made everything by hand, it was being forced to modernize at such a rapid pace.
In the year 2098, due to the Chinese Economy dropping at an all-time low and unemployment in China increasing, the Peoples Republic of China annexed Nepal, Taiwan, China, Laos, Cambodia, and North Korea. However not even that could save them and the East Asian economy crashed.
Europe[]
At the end of the United Nations Civil War, the European Union was left in an unstable state. Cities were reduced to glass, money was worthless, and food was scarce too. Now, the European Union believed it would receive help from its allies, but unfortunately, not even that could save it.
In the year 2098, Scandinavia officially broke away from the European Union to form the "Union of Scandivanian Peoples" or the Scandinavian Union for short. Their independence was further solidified when the EU invaded Denmark to prevent its succession, sparking the European Civil War.
The further issues were solidified when Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Moldova, Slovenia, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lituania, and Belarus broke away from the European Union and formed the "Union of Slavs Balts and Europeans" or what would become known as the "Slavic Republic of Europe."
After the collapse of the East Asian markets, the war between the European Union, Scandinavia, and the Slavic Republic had begun. Initially, the EU has been trying to keep Denmark from succeeding in the Scandinavian Union. Germany, Austria, and Italy have become active warzones between Slavic Republic and European Union Forces.
The new Russian Federation had declared Neutrality in the conflict but is leaning towards the Slavic Republic. The Slavic Republic has gone so far to ask to be integrated into the Russian Federation, however this decision is pending.
United States[]
After the United Nations Civil War ended, the United States was left destroyed. Cities all across the United States had been turned into rubble and the infrastructure of the nation was destroyed. Rebuilding efforts were underway by the time the invasion ended, but due to the Chinese economy crash, foreign trade simply came to a halt.
Due to rising manufacturing costs. Many American companies started outsourcing to South American countries, which not only caused unemployment in the United States to rise, but it caused disorganization in the United States.
Not only that. But the over 210 Million Americans out of the 400 Million living inside the former New Russian Federation of Occupied America had died in the largest genocide in world history, it caused
Glassing of cities[]

Due to the glassing of these cities, Earth's magnetic fields were altered. Lighting storms became more and more frequent causing electromagnetic disturbances across the world. As a result of the glassing, these cities that were effected remained uninhabitable for decades.
Due to electromagnetic disturbances, humanity was once again technologically thrown backward as everything had to be mechanized. Military and civilian technology was soon reduced to rudimentary weaponry and this would become the basis for decades afterward.
2097 to 2106[]
By the year 2097, Earth was a really ugly place. Unemployment across the world has skyrocketed to 40%, nothing was getting rebuilt, Europe was basically an anarchist zone as the European Army, the Scandivania Army, and the Slavic Commonwealths Armies were constantly fighting, as well as many other groups in Europe.
Worst of all, thanks to the new European Civil War, the new Russian President "Gavriil Turgenev" had started to rebuild the Russian Army due to the European threat. And unfortunately for the United States, the Russian threat was justified much to the dismay of the United States. However, he did abide by the United States and Europeans by remaining an allied country and an ally of the United States.
By the year 2100, the year of the 22nd Century, oil had officially been declared as unusable energy, making the blackouts of the world start lasting for weeks. Luckily the world's cars had been able to upgrade to laboratory-made Natural Gas, however, the blackouts across the world started lasting for weeks, and soon things around the world became for survival.
In 2106. The United States and the Republic of East Asia had managed to fix its economic stagnation by simply outsourcing its manufacturing jobs to South America and Africa. As a result, the US and East Asian economies slowly began to grow and finally, both countries were able to fully rebuild from the United Nations Civil War.
Europe was still a lawless warzone, and as a result, the United Nations sent in peacekeepers to officially restore order in the region.
End of the Second Great Depression[]
The effects of the Second Great Depression seemed to end in the year 2110 when unemployment rates went from 42% around the world to 36%. The unemployment rate would return to 10% unemployment by the year 2120.
Between 2110 and 2120, NASA began to realize that soon Earth might not become habitable due to the glassing effects, and due to the economic crisis, many nations began to want to go beyond Earth's Atmosphere and colonize another planet. However, due to the Electromagnetic Storms, no nation was able to get into space.
