The Saudi-Iranian War, also called the Third Gulf War, was a conflict that lasted from 17 April to 20 September 2030. The war occurred between the Islamic Republic of Iran and its allies on one side and the coalition of Gulf states led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the other. A series of missile attacks on Riyadh allegedly by the Yemeni Houthis at the behest of the Iranians was used as the pretext to declare war by Saudi Arabia. The war led to a total geopolitical realignment in the Middle East, resulting in th fall of the Saudi and Bahraini monarchies, the fall of the Islamic Republic, and the destruction of Israel.
