The Samsung Galaxy S27 is a series of flagship Android smartphones developed, manufactured, and marketed by Samsung Electronics as part of the Galaxy S series. It is the successor to the Galaxy S26 series. The series were first announced on February 2, 2027 in their Galaxy Unpacked event and was released to the public on March 26, 2027. It is the first Galaxy S phone since the S5 to return removable batteries due to laws regarding replaceable batteries.

Lineup[]

The Galaxy S27 series contains 3 variants: the base S27, the S27+, and the S27 Ultra (5G).

Design[]

The Galaxy S27 contains aluminum, plastic, and glass versions and are available in 5 colors: Night Black, Violet, Azure Blue, and Light Rose. The S27 Ultra contains titanium versions of those 5 colors.

Display[]

The Galaxy S27 and S27+ uses a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with support for HDR11+ and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The S27 Ultra uses the newest "Hyper AMOLED" display with Gorilla Glass Hyperfirma glass.

Camera[]

The Galaxy S27 and S27+ contains a 55MP wide sensor, a 12MP 5x telephoto sensor, and a 15MP ultrawide sensor. The S27 Ultra contains a 256MP wide sensor, a 75MP 5x periscope sensor, a 100MP 15x perioptical sensor, a 12MP 3x telephoto sensor, and a 15MP ultrawide sensor. All variants have a 12MP front camera sensor.

Batteries[]

The Galaxy S27, S27+, and S27 Ultra contain a removable 4500 mAh, 5000 mAh, and 5250 mAh graphene batteries respectively.

Software[]

The Galaxy S27 series at the time of its launch uses Android 17 with One UI 9 user interface. It provides 7 years of software and security updates.

Controversies[]

Touchscreen issues[]

Since May 2027, many people reported that their S27+ and S27 Ultra touchscreens were failing to respond touches most of the time. Samsung later provided an update to fix the issue.
