SPIRE Corporation was a International Private Corporation that was founded by Scottish Businessman Jason Taylor. From 2028 to 2060, they grew from a company that supplied military equipment to the Largest Corporation in the world and the worlds largest standing military. However from 2060 to 2064, they were the main antagonist behind the War against SPIRE Corporation.
History[]
In the year 2028, after the end of the Great Titan War and during the Great Collapse, the nations of the Russian Federation, the United States of America, the European Union, and the Peoples Republic of China found themselves in a post-Middle Eastern Oil rich world. As the world became more divided, new superpowers such as Japan, South Korea, and Australia became more powerful and eventually took the reins as world superpowers.
Early Years[]
SPIRE Corporation was founded as the SPIRE Manufacturing Company in the year 2028 in Edinburgh, Scotland by Scottish businessmen named Jason Taylor. Taylor was a very smart person, graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in business, biology, psychology, and many others, his company was originally a medical supply corporation. His company provided medical products to anybody that requested, but Jason Taylor had bigger ambitions for his company.
In 2029, SPIRE Manufacturing Company released a brand new product. The companies project was a machine that analyzed the body for Cancer Cells, the machine would then isolate the cells and detect possible locations of a tumor behind formed. With this machine, it revolutionized the fight against Cancer, and it put SPIRE Corporation on one of the best suppliers of medical equipment.
Expansion[]
In 2031, after four years of development, SPIRE Manufacturing Company created a brand new revolutionary piece of technology. The technology was called the neuro inhibitor chip, a computerized device that could be implemented inside the Human Skull. The chip was able to able to enhance human abilities neurologically, such as strength and agility. This was coupled with the use of an exoskeleton, they made the first version of super soldiers.
The neurological chip was banned by the United Nations to be used in warfare, however, the chip seemed to have a better ability. The chip was able to enhance signals coming from the brain, and regulate them as need be. In this fashion, the neurological ship this had the ability to regulate many mental diseases, such as Autism, Down Syndrome, and many others. With this new chip, SPIRE Corporation had the interest of many countries throughout the world.
By 2039, SPIRE Manufacturing Company was renamed to SPIRE Corporation, and by now had become one of the largest bio and medical engineering corporations in the world. Many of the worlds former superpowers, particularly the Peoples Republic of China and the United States, became big buyers of the companies products, and the profits began to soar to new heights. With this, SPIRE Corporation had managed to restore the fledgling economies of some nations. By 2040, after just 13 years on the block, SPIRE Corporation was now the largest bioengineering firm in the world.
The Korean Crisis[]
In 2041, the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea broke into pieces. After a huge economic collapse, the largest famine in world history, and the collapse of the North Korean currency, the nation fell into complete chaos, becoming something of no mans land. The "Korean Crisis" as it became known saw a huge civil war erupt across the Korean Peninsula. After the end of nearly a long one month and very very bloody Civil War, South Korea officially reunited with North Korea, founding the new United Republic of Korea. But there was a problem, the Korean Peninsula was so completely disrupted and destroyed. The United Nations, after becoming decreasingly unreliable turned to another solution.
Reykjavik Accords[]
After the Korean Crisis, the United Nations and it's members got together in Reykjavik, Iceland, signing the "Reykjavik Accords". This international treaty officially established Private Military Corporations as international private militaries. The hope was to use these PMC's in order to establish a rebuilding effort in nations that were effected by the nations by the Second Cold War brewing between the former superpowers of the Peoples Republic of China and the United States, as well as to create an international force of peacekeepers. However, this practically allowed the fact that now PMC's could go to war with each other.
SPIRE Grows[]
By the 2040s, SPIRE Corporation had transformed from a Bio engineering company, to a Private Military Corporation. As the era of Private Military Companies became more evident, SPIRE Corporation became set apart form the rest. The companies ability for 3D printing products such as weapons and helping in the development of other technologies, the company under the skillfull leadership of Jason Taylor was able to radically transform sometimes hospitable and broken nations.
Venezuelan Civil War[]
In 2043, the nation of Venezuela after years of failing economic conditions and after the Great Collapse, Venezuela, one of the largest oil producers left in the world, fell into yet another Civil War between the Socialist Government and three different rebel groups, all vying for power. Venezuela, being one of the largest oil producing nations in the world, saw fighters pull in from across South America, Asia, and the United States. By the year 2048, the Socialist Government had been completely defeated, and the nation practically did not exist being governed by now four different organizations.
As the Venezuelan Civil War raged on, the United Nations outsourced the rebuilding of the country to SPIRE corporation. SPIRE Corporation using it's expertise almost completely rebuilt the country in only just five years compared to what the US could do in 20. The company also worked out a peace deal between the four groups and forming a coalition government. This achievement was monumental, and after this initial rebuilding, SPIRE expanded out of European Borders and eventually had at least one base in almost every country.
After the end of the Venezuelan Civil War, Venezuela and Cuba voluntarily joined the new Federation of the Americas. The Federation was SPIRE Corporations biggest asset all the way up to the end, manufacturing and supplying the Federation with military and civilian technology, transforming the continent of South America from an impoverished place to a place with good qualities of life.
The Delhi Cough[]
In 2048, an mutated strain of the Pneumonic Plague was discovered in India. The mutated strain spread rapidly throughout Eastern Asia and through the Middle East. The World Health Organization declared this a Pandemic by 2049 as the virus spread into the United States, and South America. Thanks to the severity of the epidemic, a vaccine was starting to be researched as soon as it expanded outside of India's borders.
New Weapons[]
By 2050 SPIRE Corporation was well on the right track. It was now the seventh largest corporation in the world, and had fourth largest standing military in the world. The company started converting old oil tankers into transport ships, and its solders were equipped with the latest and greatest weaponry. Later that year, SPIRE created another huge invention. They began to experiment with 3D Printed weaponry and ammunition to replace weapons such as the AK-74, the M4, and the M16, and the Type 95. These weapons proved very effective in modern combat and it quickly replaced outdated models.
As SPIRE Corporation continued to grow and outpace even the greatest superpowers, SPIRE Corporation found itself at the forefront of the international battle that was occurring between the so called "Four Horsemen" The United States, the European Coalition, the Russian Federation, and the Peoples Republic of China. Both NATO and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization used SPIRE Corporations equipment in there multiple proxy wars spanned throughout the globe. Jason Taylor realized that all of this would fall back on him, and he began to grow large amounts of distrust between between the "The Power of the Titans" (The worlds nuclear powers).
Between 2050 and 2060, Jason Taylor began to increasingly hate the outside world. During the European-Iranian War and the Latin-American Wars, SPIRE Corporation sent troops to fight in both conflicts. SPIRE Corporation set up its official headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand and in the nation of Libya. However, as Jason Taylors weapons continued to be used to harm other people, he made plans to take care of the situation himself. He gathered his forces and whatever he needed, and was ready to use all force necessary to bring the world to its knees.
War against SPIRE Corporation[]
The end of SPIRE Corporation started on January 15th, 2060. On this day, SPIRE Corporation CEO Jason Taylor stated to the nations of the world to basically stop fighting there conflicts, or face his company. The United Nations was completely shocked by this effort, they all considered that this was a joke and they revoked his membership. Little did the nations of the world realize that this was the beginning of the war against SPIRE Corporation.
The UNSC-SPIRE War was a bloody conflict between the United Nations Security Council and SPIRE Corporation. The war spread across the Western United States, North Africa, the Middle East, Western China, Western Europe, and Southeast Asia. SPIRE Corporation overthrew the Thailand Government and was able to wage war for a pretty good while. The war saw the deaths of nearly 96 Million lives and it lasted between 2060 and 2065, and some of the most shocking atrocities seen in world history, only surpassed by the Federation-American War 10 years later . However, after five years of brutal and intense fighting, the United Nations Security Council came up on top.
The End of SPIRE Corporation[]
SPIRE Corporation was officially disbanded in May 2065 when the last SPIRE Corporation division surrendered to the United Nations. Jason Taylor was tried in an international court in Thailand by all of the nations who fought in the war. Jason was found guilty and was sentenced to death by execution along with his top advisors.
