Pakistan, officially the Republic of Pakistan (as of 2080), was a nation in South Asia. After being torn apart by terrorism, extremism and poverty from the 1990s to the 2010s, Pakistan became a secular republic on August 16, 2020. Afterwards, it became a major regional power in the Middle East and Asia, as well as a secondary space power from the 2040s to the 2070s. It became a developed nation in 2032.

2000s
During the 2000s, Pakistan was a US ally in the War on Terror. For most of the 2000s, Pakistan was ruled by President Musharraf, who took over Pakistan in a coup d'etat in 1999 and led the country until 2008, where he was replaced by Yousuf Raza Gilani, who became Prime Minister. During this time, Pakistan was plagued by terrorist attacks on its civillians and on its military. Pakistan was also a center for extremism, sectarianism and illiteracy.
2010s
Yousuf Raza Gilani was disqualified from holding the office of Prime Minister in 2012. In 2013, Pakistan held democratic elections in which Nawaz Sharif became Prime Minister. During the 2010s, Pakistan was being crippled by even more religious extremism, as well as the rise of polio. The Taliban were eradicated in 2017, which helped pave the way to a more peaceful future. The liberals in Pakistan also began to speak out and fight for a better Pakistan.
2020s
On August 16, 2020, Pakistan's government was overthrown by the Pakistan Secular Party. The Secular Party shifted Pakistan's government policies away from Islam, and started to open up the economy to foreign investors. They also managed to get projects such as the South Asia Water Project started, which reduced to possibility of "resource wars" occurring in the region. Pakistan was on the Arab side during the Second Israeli War, where it supplied 10,000 soldiers and 100 fighter jets.
2030s
Pakistan saw an economic boom during the 2030s as it began to recover from the war. The Pakistani economy shifted from an agriculture-based one to a medical/space-based one. Pakistan was the world's largest supplier of rare-earth materials during this decade.
2040s
During the 2040s, immigrants, mainly from Southeast Asia, Central Asia and East Africa, began coming to Pakistan.
