Operation Musket was the invasion of New Caledonia, Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands by the Australian Empire and later annexation into the empire.

Prelude[]

Prior to the beginning of Operation Musket, the Australian Empire faced heavy criticism since even prior to its creation. Countries like the United States, Russia, China, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, North Korea, Nigeria, South Africa, Indonesia, Germany and Turkey all were just a handful of countries which condemned the creation of the Australian Empire and it’s possible future invasions of neighbouring countries.

Australia faced the most criticism from France due to its territory, New Caledonia, being located close by Australia. French President Raphael Durand said that Australia would be met by military resistance and a war would break out of Australia did so much as step foot on the island.
