After years and years of dispute and struggled relations going on between Northern Ireland and England; in 2015, Northern Irish rebels backed by the Irish Republican Army (IRA) overthrew the United Kingdom occupation of Ireland and declared independence from the United Kingdom creating the Republic of Northern Ireland. Soon after, in October 2014, the Republic of Northern Ireland was annexed by the Republic of Ireland. This was the start of a new conventional war between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
