The French presidential election of 2022 was held on April 23, 2022.
National Rally leader Marine Le Pen defeated En Marche leader and Incumbent President Emmanuel Macron with the biggest amount of votes possible.
The election was mainly based around the Yellow Vest protests, which occurred in late 2018 and early 2019. Le Pen would campaign against the french establishment and the European Union like in 2017.
Due to Macron's unpopularity, Le Pen would win the biggest number of votes ever and would go on to win a majority of 250 seats controlling the house.
