1991 | Germany has had generally positive relations with the Baltic states prior to World War III, when Germany helped Russia invade them. Since the end of the war, diplomatic relations have been restored, but their attitude remains tense.

Bulgaria | 1878 | Germany and Bulgaria have historically had close relations, fighting on the same side in all three world wars. Bulgaria was a member of the Pact of Steel and still has close economic and military cooperation with Germany.

Croatia | 1992 | Germany recognized Croatia's independence from Yugoslavia early on an the two states have historically had friendly ties. Croatia was also a member of the Pact of Steel during WWIII and they continue to have strong cooperation in multiple fields.

Finland | 1918 | Although Germany and Finland used to have close relations and had been allies in the past, since WWIII their relations worsened as Germany provided assistance to Russia in attacking Finland. Diplomatic relations have been restored but are still tense.

Germany and France have fought on opposite sides in many wars, but in the 21st century their relations were restored and they enjoyed greater economic and military cooperation. France was one of Germany's closest allies during WWIII and still the two states continue to support each other.
