The Federation, officially known as the "Federation of the Americas" (Spanish: Federacion de las Américas, Portuguese: Federação das Américas) was a political, economic, and military union that existed in Latin America that was formed after a series of unfortunate events in the 2020s and 2030s. Initially formed as a union of Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, the nation grew to encompass the entire South American Continent. It once grew from a mild nation that nobody cared about to the world's sole superpower.
The Federation of the Americas initially started by becoming a First World Democratic Nation at its start, but as the years progressed, the Federation of the Americas went through a transition from a Democracy, to a Technocratic Republic, to something of an Authoritarian-Totalitarian Theocratic Oligarchy. Defined by the ideals of theology and Catholicism, the Federation used Catholicism as an excuse to commit many brutal war crimes during the war, ultimately leading to its demise.
Rise to power[]
The Federation's rise to power can be traced years back to the Arab Spring. The Arab Spring destroyed the Middle East and soon vital oil supplies from the Middle East became scarce to the point the world had to look for other markets. By the 2030s, the United States, the European Union, the Russian Federation, and the Peoples Republic of China slowly began to decline as the Middle East's oil markets began to collapse. Nations such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Venezuela, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and Scotland became the new world superpowers as they became prime targets for the international battle for oil resources.
A rally for the creation of the Federation
On June 2nd, 2039, just before the outbreak of the Venezuelan Civil War, the oil-rich nations of Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile voted to unite their countries. Together, these nations officially united to form the "Federation of the Americas." The new nation ultimately came into question almost immediately. Despite The Federation of the Americas being ranked eighth in the world superpower, and having the seventh-largest economy in the world, the Federation was deemed a sideshow. The Federation was considered a nation with widespread poverty and a nation-state that had an uncertain future. In many circles of the traditional world governments, this position stuck, but it was about to change.
As the resources and nations of the Middle East and North Africa continued to increasingly decline the alliances and the balance of political power began to shift. After the War against the Peoples Liberation and Resistance, the, a Pneumonic Plague outbreak hit the world killing roughly 48 million people, and the European-Iranian War, and many other crises, the United States, European Federation, Russian Federation, and Peoples Republic of China lost there superpower status
After the end of the European-Iranian War in 2055, Europe, Asia, and their other members entered into a massive economic recession. The United Nations Security Council has been unable to resolve the European-Iranian War, and the other domestic issues plaguing the new world, many nations began seeing the old United Nations as an ineffective organization, and soon many nations considered removing their envoy. With the UN becoming ineffective, many new nations began to merge with other nations and many new nations such as the European Federation began to form. However, some nations such as the United States began to increase hostilities towards other nations and began bullying other countries into giving them resources.
After the end of the Latin-American Wars and the PMC Wars, the Federation of the Americas had officially consolidated power over most of South America. Despite everything the world had recently been through, The Federation had proven itself to be a worthy fighting force, as well as major civilian-friendly nations. Its economy rapidly began growing, and soon was able to outcompete Japan, Australia, and other nations. The Federation had transformed itself from a minor power to the most powerful nation in the history of mankind, taking the place of what was the United States.
Federation Crusade[]

In 2075, the decades of growing distrust between the Federation and the United States, and the Federation refusal to leave occupied French Guinea and Guyana lead to the outbreak of war between the two countries. The United States (With assistance from the European Federation) kicked off this conflict by launching an invasion into Federation territory, eventually leading to the two countries duking it out in the Federation Capital City of Caracas. The defending Federation forces decided to use scorched Earth style tactics and unconventional warfare to repel the invasion. These tactics worked, and it tipped the scales in favor of the Federation. Two years after the initial invasion of the Federation, the Federation had begun countering the United States, invading Central America in the process with the United States continuously retreating. In 2077, the United States deployed its first ever Kinetic Energy Missile (K.E.M) defense technology under the name, the Orbital Defense Initiative (ODIN). The aim was to ultimately detour the Federation from invading the United States. The Federation instead countered this weapon on July 10th, 2077, by smuggling a strike team to the station after a Cyber Warfare attack against the United States. The strike team then proceeded to hijack the ODIN Space Station, nicknamed the "Freedom Star" and turned the weapon against its makers. While surviving US personnel aboard the command station managed to scuttle it before all of ODIN's projectiles could be fired, the American south and southwest were decimated, most notably Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Louisiana. The Federation immediately followed their surprise attack on ODIN with a full scale Invasion of the United States.

The war on American Soil initially started out well for the Federation. However, fierce fighting and other countries entering the war between the two countries stalled the American front considerably. In the year 2080, the Federation of the Americas gained a new ally into the war, the Peoples Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and many other Federation allies entered the war on behalf of the Federation. Together, these countries not only attacked their neighbors, but also outright invaded the European Federation using cruel methods. By 2081, the Federation had managed to conquer most of the United States, Southern Canada, and the European Federation. However, the multiple front war, coupled with the increasing resistance in occupied Central America turned the war from a swift campaign into a humiliating struggle.
This delays from the European, Central American, and American resistance allowed the United States and Canada (through a joint economy) to allow the USA enough time to rebuild and rearm. Together, these two countries began the prepared to use whatever force needed to expel the invaders. In March 2083, the United Nations Security Command launched an offensive against Federation occupied New York City. The UNSC were able to retake New York City and establish a foothold on the mainland. After clearing New York City of the remaining enemy troops, the UNSC pushed inland with a series of counter attacks. This included the destruction of several ammunition depots, a radio array, a series of decoys to draw the enemy's attention, as well as use blockade tactics to destroy a good portion of the Federation Navy at Norfolk, Virginia.
These series of counter attacks, including a successful offensive on the occupied US West Coast, eventually revealed the shocking, outright immoral atrocities against the American people. These atrocities, not including the hijacking of the ODIN Space Station, ignited the fire that enraged not only the United States, but most of the world along with it. However, despite these successful counterattacks, the UNSC lost momentum, and the Federation was able to stabilize the frontline among the ruins of southern west American cities, once again turning the North American front, into a stalemate.
In 2085, the Russia and the Federation had a massive fallout between the two powers over the Federation occupation of Europe. The result of this fallout saw Russia finally enter the war. Not on the side of the Federation, but on the side of the United States. For decades prior, the Russian Federation had been a large supplier of Federation Arms and been a valuable trading partner. The Russians entering the war on the side of the United States allowed the war to be tipped into the scales in favor of the UNSC, allowing for the liberation of the European Federation, and knocking the Islamic Republic of Iran, Libya, and Algeria out of the war.
In 2087, 12 years after the initial start, the Federation War's size had been drastically reduced. The war was now limited to the UNSC vs the Federation in the Southwestern United States, Africa, and Southeast Asia. For the first time since the Civil War, the United States allowed a foreign country to use its military bases. Together the UNSC prepared to finally expel the Federation from US territory, and push for the total destruction of the Federation. However, the Federation had been conducting renewed offensives along the frontlines, and the stalemate was beginning to show upon both sides. Unbeknownst to the UNSC these offensives were a prelude to Operation Homecoming's final phase, the Federation's final push to finish what they started.
Over the previous decade, the Federation Science Division had devoted itself to reverse-engineering ODIN from the wreckage, with information provided from captured intel during the Occupation of the United States. The result was the Federation satellite array, code named ZUES, LOKI, and "FEDSAT" by the US, a more streamlined version of ODIN designed to fire tungsten rods of varying sizes for precision strikes, and allow deployment of Federation Soldiers anywhere in the world within 60 minutes tops. Once operational, the array would be used to destroy the remaining U.S. major cities and its military, and allow for swift conquest and to hopefully cause the UNSC to sue for peace.
Before the array was activated, the UNSC accidentally learned of its existence after witnessing the launch of multiple rockets from the Occupied Yucatan Peninsula and raiding "The Shop," the array's manufacturing facility in Rio de Janeiro. The UNSC marshaled the last of its naval forces to launch an incursion into Federation Territory to capture LOKI's primary control center in Chile's Atacama Desert. Despite being heavily defended, the facility was breached and destroyed, allowing a US Air Force squad to attack the array's command station in space and redirect LOKI's fire against Federation ground and naval forces. As a result, much of the Federation's forces and industrial might were destroyed and ZUES was was captured, weakening it to the point where where it allowed for the UNSC to fully invade the Federation and dissolve its government.
By the conclusion of the war, the Federation of the Americas found itself completely and totally dismantled. Federation Leaders and Military generals mostly fought to the death to try and maintain the Federation identity alive, but most couldn't. As a result to escape trials, most Federation Leaders either killed themselves or fled to other parts of the world where they could organize a proper resistance, but most fled to Easter Island. The Federation of the Americas declares itself to still exist on Easter Island, however, it is not internationally recognized.

The Federation of the America's Economy started minuscule at first. Initially, their economy was around 10 trillion, and it was deemed a sideshow compared to other issues going on at the time. However, thanks to a series of unfortunate events, the Federation economy went from miniscule to the largest in the world for a short period of time.
The Economy of the Federation of the Americas is disputed. It is very much a Free Market Capitalist Economy, however, the Government of the Federation does have some say in the production, most importantly when it comes to products of the Federation's Armed Forces. As the world's supplies of oil continued to decline over the next few decades, the remaining nations with access to oil such as Russia and Canada became prime trading targets for the United States and the European Federations' aggressive trading policies. As a nation that had the largest supplies of oil in the world next to Russia and Canada, the Federation was able to radically industrialize, secularize, and centralize its capabilities.
By the 2060s and 2070s, the Federation resembled, to quote one observed, "The New Dubai and Shanghai." Brazil, as already the largest member state of the Federation of the Americas grew immensely due to its agricultural and resourceful capabilities. Chile and Argentina became some of the best suppliers in the world for mineral resources in the entire world, and often foreign investors came to find Gold, Silver, Diamonds, and other resources. The major "International Cities" of the Federation were Caracas, Rio De Janeiro, Santiago, and Havana were able to completely rebuild themselves similar to the cities of Saudi Arabia.

Throughout the Federations' existence from 2039 to 2087, the Federation grew to have the largest industrial complex in the known world with a 32 Trillion USD GDP. The Federation was able to build bases and cities in Antarctica and large floating industrial complexes and facilities in the Gulf of Mexico. The Federation stood as the most powerful economy in the known world. With its massive oil, mineral, and agricultural resources, the Federation became one of the most resourceful nations in the world, even more, resourceful than Australia. The United States, being the nation that it is, targeted the Federation due to its extreme wealth, which lead to relations between the two states deteriorating. The Federation developed large financial, trade, manufacturing, and corporate institutions to remain competitive against failing powers, and vast new infrastructure programs revolutionized the continent, such as draining the Darien Gap.
Society and Culture[]
Being composed of a variety of nations, the Federation has a diverse, vibrant culture. The primary official language is Spanish with Portuguese, French, and indigenous languages also present. Traditional Latin American culture defines much of the nation, which is heavily used by the Federations Government as a political bargaining tool. In the latter half of the 2030s, South America began to experience a large population boom. The Federations population grew from a good 500 Million people to over 800 Million people by the 2070s. The Federation views all races and genders as equal and is one of the only world superpowers that fights for equal rights of whites, blacks, Homosexuals, Transgender, and Women. This seemed to be a mockery to make fun of the European Coalition and the Russian Federation.
The Federation of the Americas presents itself as a highly nationalistic kind of nation. The Federation of the America's ruling party, which in reality was the high elite of the nation, prided itself as having a good relationship with its compatriots, who in turn gave them their loyalty. This came from years of economic growth, numerous military and societal victories, and other events. The Life Expectancy Rate inside the Federation of the Americas was 86.51 years old, the highest in the entire Western Hemisphere and the highest in the Western World. The Federation also provided itself as having the second-highest GNI Index behind the European Federation. Due to these many factors, the Federation had a very well good relationship with its compatriots
In addition, the Federation of the Americas has prided itself as being one of the most modern and technologically advanced nations in the world. The Federation of the Americas has the largest High-Speed Rail and Electric Railroad network in the Western Hemisphere. Its High-Speed Rail Network connects the entirety of South America, and has the longest stretch of High-Speed Rail in the world, running from Caracas to Ushuaia. The Federation of the Americas also prides itself with the Highest Railroad in the world, running through Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru at a height of almost 13,000 feet. In addition to the railroads, the Federation of the Americas had the largest amount of highway and roadways in the world, with over 7.8 Million Miles of the highway.
The Federation's Government prides itself on having close relations with its native tribes. This may come out of necessity to get local support for the construction of infrastructure throughout the interior. Many of the native tribes inside the Federation Territory can continue their culture and are allowed to teach the compatriots inside the Federation about their culture. This appeared to be a method to make the Federation appear morally superior to the United States which destroyed their indigenous populations.
The Federation of the Americas also prides itself as a nation of faithful. The Federation of the Americas has amongst the highest populations of people who believe in the Catholic Faith, and Roman Catholicism is the official religion of the state. Out of the over 800 Million people that lived in Federation Territory, almost 70% of them strongly believed in the Catholic Faith. This number made the Federation (At least before the outbreak of the Federation-American War) a strong ally with Vatican City. The Federations Ideology of Catholicism runs so deep inside of its citizens, that the Federation used its religion to commit some of the most horrendous acts known to mankind during the Federation-American War.

The Federation of the Americas has two national holidays. The first is on June 15th, which marks the official day of the unification of Brazil, Argentina, and Chile to form the Federation of the Americas. This day is simply known as "Federation Day" and is one of the Federation's most attended events. The Second National Holiday is "Victory Day" which occurs on September 2nd. This day is a national holiday to honor the victims of the Brazilian Military who died during the Second World War, as well as the millions of others who died in that conflict. These two days include national celebrations and national mourning, and they include military and civilian parades across the major cities of the Federation.

The song goes to the beat of a military drum, which is supposed to reflect the steady pace of the Federation of the Americas. It is then included with a traditional orchestra. The song is played before the traditional "Federation Day" celebrations and the annual "Victory Day" Celebrations which are to commemorate Brazil's participation in the Second World War. The anthem is also played at the Federation of the Americas annual "Parade for the People" which is a parade displaying both the traditional and military accomplishments. Before the outbreak of the Federation-American War, the Federation allowed foreign soldiers to participate, including but not limited to American, Russian, British, French, Indian, Chinese, North Korean, South Korean, etc. troops.

Despite being the industrial and economic powerhouse of the world, the Federation has a very hostile approach to Global Affairs. Despite the Federation expanding the Federation War to almost every nation on Earth, going to war very highly frowned amongst Federations Catholic Theocratic Government. After the collapse of the UN, the Federation attempted major peacekeeping efforts in Nigeria, Mali, Somalia, the Congo, and Azawad.

Despite the Federation's attitude and teachings, the war against the United States was because the Federation claimed that the United States had been trying to enforce its will on the people of Latin America and that the United States needed to learn that Latin America was an independent region not to become assimilated. During the Federation-American War, the Federation attempted multiple occasions to sign peace with the United States, even offering conditional surrender, but the US and the other nations of the world continued to refuse the Federation's offers. Even after the Federation hijacked an American Orbital Defense Satellite and turned it against the Southwest United States, and even after the Federation detonated thousands of pounds of Chemical Weapons across several European Cities, the United States and the European Coalition still refused to surrender, and it made the Federation gain more and more enemies, despite trying to negotiate.

During the early stages of the Federation of the America's life, the Federation of the Americas was originally a first-world democratic state that just consisted of the governments of Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. The original capital of the Federation was Rio De Janerio and its government was divided into three branches and was consisted of multiple parties. Citizens of the Federation were allowed to enjoy a free culture that was free to enjoy a pop culture movement of the time.
As the Federation of the Americas continued to increase its image internationally, there was a faction amongst the Federation elite that made a realization. If the Federation continued to open itself as a growing power, foreign politics, as well as foreign ideologies could pose a threat to the safety and security of the Federation. As like what was happening within the United States such as the Democratic Socialists of America, ANTIFA, the National Socialist Movement, and many others within the United States, these elites, which consisted amongst some of the top industrial leaders of the Federation, began to realize that it couldn't allow these ideologies to spread through South America, otherwise, the experiment of the Federation could become threatened by the outside affairs of political powerhouses.

With the realization, this faction decided to put their plan into action. These Catholic Industrialists, led by the infamous Almagro Family, worked their way into political circles. These "Pawns" would slowly work their way up the Federation ranks and soon began influencing politicians behind the scenes. Slowly but surely, the Federation of the America's leadership began to increase its presence in its civilian affairs to not only control political descent but to secure its legitimacy as a new nation. The Federations Leadership slowly began to suppress freedom of the press, freedom of thought and expression, and other things. Amongst these things, the Federation needed some serious nationalistic uproar to secure itself. The addition of Venezuela, Cuba, and Haiti into the Federation rankings further boosted the Federation's need to cut its population off from the outside world.
After the end of the Latin-American Wars in 2057, the Federation of the Americas had new nationalistic growth. The Federation of the Americas grew to encompass the nations of Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay into its rankings. With this ultimate victory over the Las Trinidad Cartel, the Federation of the Americas was now at the forefront of international politics. From this point, the Federation of the Americas could no longer be considered an impoverished failed state, it was now a world power. Things further assisted the Federation during the PMC Wars, when the Federation undoubtedly was able to fight off SPIRE Corporation better than most of the former world superpowers. From now on, the Federation was no longer just a world power, it was now a world superpower.
By 2065, the Federation of the Americas had gone through a radical transformation from a first-world democratic nation, to something that couldn't be described in just one word. Federation Military General, Adrian Rojas, secured himself to be the new President of the Federation of the Americas, and the Elitist most powerful people of the Federation had secured themselves as the head ruling "Party" of the Federation. The Federation of the Americas was the nation of its kind, a nation where the power of the people and the power of the Government were seemingly balanced. In addition to these, the Federation's ruling party worships the idea of Continentalism, with the Federations Government proclaiming that unification would be better for the Earth rather than nations fighting each other. For the Federation, the idea of a one-world superstate would benefit the Human Race. The Federation also has disdain for individual freedom, seemingly instead focusing on the collective good of their compatriots.
Federation Crusade[]
Between the years of 2065 to 2087, the Federation of the Americas had declared itself the Technocratic Republic, however in the reality, the Federation had transformed itself into an Authoritarian Theocracy. Its governmental body is known as the "Council of Commanders", and they are the head leaders of the Government. People on the council can only stay on the council for 10 years. The Leadership of the Federation however is mostly made up of the upper elites, similar to that of an aristocracy. The "Party" of the Federation is fully supported by deep nationalistic supporters, and it has been able to rule without question.
To secure the legitimacy of the Party, the Federation of the Americas employed the many levels of government to seduce the population. The levels of Government first go to the President, then below him/her is the Vice President. Then below him/her is the Council of Commanders, which is made up of 13 people from the different levels of government. Below the Council of Commanders is the Federation Senate, and below the Federation senate are the "Big Four." The Big four are the Federation High Command, which controls the Federation Army, Navy, and Air Force. Then there is the Federation Ministry of Economic Affairs, which deals with economics, then there is the Federation Department of Foreign Affairs, which deals with the military and economic security of the Federation, and the last, and the biggest, the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is divided into four main sections. The first is the "Department of Political Opposition" which was designed to make sure nobody openly questioned the Party, the Department of Political Opposition controls much of the spread of information within Federation territory. Their basic job is to brand a civilization that looks like something on the outside but is completely different on the inside. This included state-run education and propaganda, in which certain elements and historical events were changed to make the Party look legitimate. For example, in Federation Schools, the Party teaches the brutal war that was engulfed in South America during the Russo-American War, and this heavy teaching in turn was able to create violent and radically new supporters.
To secure that citizens were to remain loyal, the Federation of the Americas needed to secure a good standard of living, the Ministry of Internal Affairs in conduction with the Department of Economic Affairs controls the "Department of Human Resources." This is a nationwide Human Resources Department. The purpose of this department is to create living conditions that people will accept. Good quality housing, availability of jobs, and other things are all the responsibility of the Department of Human Resources. In reality, though, the Department of Human Resources job is to make sure that the Civilian Population couldn't have better conditions than the ruling Party and overtake the Elitist group of people running the country. These were done by delusional state propaganda, and it worked for the most part.
The last of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the "Ministry of Citizen Development" aka, the secret police force of the Federation of the Americas. The Ministry of Citizen Development's job is barred from being known by Federation Citizens and is one that is hardly ever known in the outside world. The Federation's PMC Elite has a division that is entirely devoted and controlled by the Ministry of Citizen Development. The job was simple, to make sure Foreign and Federation Citizens didn't openly question the party. The Ministry of Citizen Development for example runs its version of the World Wide Web, which is in reality, a nationwide intranet. This intranet holds all the websites you would find on the World Wide Web, however, it is censored to Federation standards. The Ministry of Citizen Development would often ban certain items from being allowed inside Federation territory. For example, items that originate from enemies of the Federation such as Islamic countries such are in most cases considered contraband inside Federation territories and are illegal to be possessed, and the Ministry of Citizen Development would also control the flow of foreign and homemade goods inside Federation Territory.
These levels of government in place had taken almost 30 years to the implant, and they were completely unbeknownst to the public, and even some of the highest levels of the Federation Military. Thanks to these, the Federation of the Americas had radically transformed itself into a powerful force that could barely be reckoned with. Thanks to the Federation's fake threats of terrorism, the Federation made gun ownership is mandatory within Federation territory. During the Federation-American War, enforced labor camps were placed inside Federation Occupied territories to gather resources to advance the party. However, despite the Federation being the most technologically advanced nation in the world, the Federation's ruling party preferred using Humans as labor rather than robots or machines. This was to maintain it so that the people would not openly question the ruling party of the Federation.
By the time the Federation-American War had come about, the Federation of the Americas was mostly an Authoritarian Theocratic Oligarchy. The ruling party of the Federation, which was, in reality, the social elite of the Federation now had almost full control over Federation Politics. Thanks to clever masterminding, the Federation had created a society where Totalitarianism reigned, individualism was dead, and facts were not reality. The Federation used this nationalistic purveying to rowel up its masses when its long time rival when the Federation came into contact with its long time rival.
Throughout the war, comments made by Federation troops indicate that reproduction of its populace or at least access to sexual intercourse is mandatory inside Federation Territory unless if granted a permit or you have a medical condition. In addition inside Federation territory Autism, Transgender, and Mental Retardation (Still a diagnosis in the Federation) are worshipped by the Federation Citizens, however, Federation Scientists after the war commented on trying to develop "cures" for these "diseases." During the Federation-American War, it was discovered that the Federation had used SPIRE Corporation's "Neuro Inhibitor Chip" and using other methods of lobotomy amongst POWs, particularly Americans.
Despite being somewhat of a Fascist State, Federation State-run education teaches its people about the atrocities committed during World War II and is very intent to get rid of Nazism in its country. Across the Federation Occupied Territory, the Federation began a crackdown against any Neo-Nazi and White Supremacist movements. Nazi Flags and Swastika's that were used to display Nazism were strictly forbidden and were burned and movements such as the National Socialist Movement and their members were sent to execution. In particular, the Federations Armed Forces took interest in White Supremacist Movements, such as the KKK, and implemented some of the harshest measures known.

The Federation of the America's armed forces is very simple. The Federation military is divided between the Federation Army, Navy, and Air Force. All of whom are represented by Senior Generals, but all of whom are under the command of the Admiral of the Federation Armed Forces. First Equipment of the Federation of the Americas
The first uniforms of the Federation of the Americas
During the first few years of the Federation of the Americas existence, its military status wasn't considered match worthy by the traditional world powers at the time. The countries military uniforms were mostly derived from Russian style uniforms, and were mostly equipped with a amalgamation of American, European, and Asian equipment. The Federation Military initially operated with homebuilt rip offs of the AK12, Remington RF5, and a highly upgraded version of the of the FAL Assault Rifle, as well as K7 sub machine guns for combat duties. The Federation didn't have a special forces unit at this time as well, and the countries Army, Navy, and Air Force basically were apart of the same consolidation and were not like the other major powers of the time. Given the Federation's terrain, the first edition of Federation Military uniforms were a distinct Jungle Green, with home built but heavily inspired designed Russian helmets, goggles, and even ski masks.

Over the decades as the Federation continued to grow into a much stronger power, the military was seriously overhauled as the Federation normalized attributes and technologically progressed to rival that of the worlds lower powers at the time. After the victory in the Latin-American Wars against the Las Trinidad Cartel, and the major victories the Federation helped obtain during the PMC War against the SPIRE Corporation, the Federation grew to have the modern and most combat effective military in the world, and proved to be a formidable opponent in the Federation-American War. Federation troops became a well-uniformed streamline opponent to the beleaguered U.S. forces wearing combat shirts and combat pants in different camouflage patterns (either in urban, woodland, snow colored, navy, and all-black camouflage). In addition, Federation soldiers were equipped with the most state-of-the-art military-grade protective plate carriers and Kevlar helmets (many with ballistic face shields attached to rail adapters on the sides of the helmets).
The Federations top special forces units
Within its rankings, the Federation had an elite faction in its military simply known as the "The Order of the Rose". The Order of the Rose was not just a company, but a military inside of a military. The soldiers that comprise of the Order of the Rose with there Rose Banner on the side of their shoulder sleeve are the most elite fighting force inside the Federation Ranks. They use the same weapons as the Army but have access to Sub Machine Guns for stealth operations. The Federation forces have different camouflage appearances to blend in the environment for better purposes. Their commanders wear Red Berets and are often seen leading troops in the many wars the Federation has fought in.

During the early years of the Federation, the Federation operated with a variety of equipment from various sources, including the Peoples Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the European Federation, and the United States. Some examples of these included the MiG-29, the F-15 Eagle, the Eurofighter Tycoon, the T90MS Main Battle Tank, the Y-8 Gunship, the GAZ-Tiger, the BTR-80, the MI-24, the EC-635, the Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer, the Nimitz Class Aircraft Carriers, the Humvee, and much other equipment from across the world.
The reason for the variety in equipment was mostly due to the cheapness at which these items could be obtained, and the fact that the Federation could upgrade them to the specs needed to simplify training and maintenance. Although Military spending was not a high priority, the Federation still put a devoted budget to military spending to modernize its military equipment. Throughout the Federation's lifespan, the equipment that is obtained from a variety of countries was eventually simplified and reverse-engineered with the intended purpose of using it to their advantage over their enemies. Since the Federation was a High Valued Target, the fear of war or at least the international battle of the first and second world was a striking amount of fear into the Federation.
With the Federation's abilities to reverse engineer and repurpose technology, it offset the terms of difficulty in terms of training and maintenance, as the Federation added its appliances to make the training and maintenance easier as they were produced inside Federation Territory. In other words, something is different on the outside than it is on the inside. In addition, the cheapness in which these items can be obtained was a huge factor in the Federation's ability to outpace its adversaries. The variety in its equipment also gave the Federation an advantage over other nation-states, as it gave them vital research into outclassing and outmaneuvering their enemies.
During its lifespan, the Federation prided itself in developing many notable vehicles. The NOVA, T-87-2 Andean Bear, the A8 Mountain Lion, and the X08 Selva Tiger Tanks were high valued assets for the Federation and were noted for being formidable opponents to the Americans, Russians, Chinese, and Europeans. Other vehicles, such as the outfitted AEGIS Class Destroyers, the Rio Class Aircraft Carriers (the largest in the world), the Atacama Class Attack Helicopter, and the Reaper Class Fighter aircraft were many examples of the Federations major capabilities.

The Federation of the America's coat of arms
From the beginning, the Federation required all of its healthy male citizens to attend military service beginning at age 21. Their service lasts a minimum of 12 months, or at a maximum of three years, but can be longer depending on if the soldier chooses active service or reserve service. Citizens such as the Physically Disabled, the Blind, Mentally Crippled, etc. are barred from serving in the armed forces. Because of this, the Federation has one of the largest and most combat effective militaries in the world. On top of that, the Federation's largest corporation, Industrias Soberanas, is a PMC that operates in the Philippines, the Peoples Republic of China, Syria, Iran, and some North and Central African countries. These Mercenaries are loyal to the cause of the Federation which gives the Federation the largest known army in the world.
Federation troops referred to their military collectively as "the legions" and Federation security seems to be referred to as "guardsmen." In the later years of the Federation-American War, it was simply referred to as the "National Combined Arms of the Federation." During training, in the early years, Federation troops were taught on the basis of American and Chinese Soldiers. By the time of the Federation-American War, Federation troops are politically indoctrinated even more than they were when they were not in service. Their nationalistic fevering is what made Federation soldiers worthy opponents.
In training, Federation troops are heavily influenced by the Russo-American War, and fester on how the Russian Federation and the United States fought their brutal war on South American Soil. This kind of atrocity is what they are pledging to defend the continent against. The political indoctrination of Federation Soldiers runs so deep, that even when evidence showed that the Federation was going on the offensive, 90% of Federation troops didn't question it. Those who did were quietly deposed of by the secret police. In addition to the political indoctrination, the Federation of the Americas required all of its troops to strictly follow Catholicism. This includes being ordained with holy water, once weekly prayer, and among other things.
The Federations combat forces are largely male-dominated, however, Women are also allowed to serve. Women are allowed to serve to start at the age of 24, however, they are not part of the conscripted force of the Federation. Women go through the same training as Males, however, Women soldiers are exerted certain privilege's that Men don't get. For example, women are given more Freedom on base and are often exerted from required to carry personal weapons once they leave the armed forces. Women though still receive the same political indoctrination as men.
In addition to all of this, Federation Soldiers are strictly required to follow a strict creed. The Soldiers creed is as follows...

I will always support the Federation
I will not be defeated in dishonor
I will never be out-worked, out-classed, or out-gunned.

The Federations Armed Forces are not above using unconventional warfare. This has ranged from backing and supplying Somalian Pirates who want to attack enemies of the Federation, using Chemical Weapons for strategical tactics to gain an edge over the enemy, or killing civilians to try and stop resistance attacks. During the Federation-American War, this political indoctrination and use of unconventional warfare lead to the deaths of more civilians in battles than actual enemy targets.
The end of the Federation[]
The Federation of the Americas' reign over South America lasted for 48 years, from 2039 to 2087. In July of 2087, after the formal Operation Scorched Earth by the United Nations Security Command, most of the Federation's Military, Economy, and Infrastructure were virtually obliterated by the ZEUS Project. With no hope left in winning the war, most of the Federation Government and High Command Fled from Caracas. With the Federations Chain of Command shattered, the UNSC essentially just walked into Caracas.
The UNSC, without a formal treaty, began dismantling the Federation. Relics of the Federation, such as its national bank, statues, flags, and other symbols such as the Federation Imperial Eagle were looted, destroyed, and/or burned by allied troops, mostly Americans. To escape the UNSC, the Federation Government officials escaped through the underground tunnel systems underneath Caracas, and to a base where the officials escaped by sea. The Federation Government and High Command who escaped went to Easter Island, where they maintained the status of the Federation of the Americas.
As of 2100, these exiles still claim they are the true successor to the Federation of the Americas. Most of them still maintain the status of an active military, navy, and air force, although it is severely minuscule compared to what it once was. The exiles still claim that the Federation of the Americas has not surrendered, and has on many times attempted to radicalize the people of South America into resisting, none of which have been successful. To keep a close eye, the UNSC has a battle carrier group that circles Easter Island 24/7 that is deployed from the new nation-states in South America.

Most of the relics in these pictures have mostly been destroyed by the UNSC, and have strictly been forbidden in most countries around the world. The Federation Imperial Eagle Symbol, the Federation "Unity Banner" and many other of these relics have been lost to history.

Here is the different camos that were used by the Federation. Take note of all the different armor configurations that are in place. The armor configurations are not limited by the division or camo colors, and are used in all five of the Federations Ground and Naval Divisions.
Here is the main Federation Attack Helicopter. This helicopter became one of these most feared in the entire Federation Arsenal during its later combat years.

Here is a sample of the Federation PMC Elite troops. These troops are the Green Berets of the Federation of the Americas, and are the most elite special forces unit in the world. These troops can be seen all across the battlefields the Federation ever fought in.
Here is one of three variations of the Federation Ground Army. This is the Federations "Woodland" Camo, and these troops can be seen across the Battlefields of Europe, Southeast Asia, and other areas.
Here is the third and final variation of the Federation Army uniforms. These are the Artic Camos, and these are usually given to those who work in mountainous areas. These were mostly given to those who were fighting on the South Pole.
Here is the second variation of the Federation Army Camos. This is the Desert Camo that is worn by Federation troops that are deployed to areas such as North Africa, the Middle East, and the Atacama Desert.

The Eagle of the Federation of the Americas is one of its most recognized symbols. This eagle is worn by the Federation PMC Elite, and it can be found on many Civilian and Military pieces of equipment.
This is one of the many banners that could be found across the Federation. These banners were used in the initial campaign for the creation of the Federation, but it was soon morphed into a national icon. This banner can be found on Federation License Plates, Diplomas, Embassies, etc.
