Earth is the homeworld of mankind, located in the Sol system of the Milky Way Galaxy. In the 21st-century Earth was a thriving planet with approximately seven billion in the beginning of the century and nine in the end. The high population at the end of the century was the beginning of the overpopulation and the overpollution of Earth as seen in the late-27th-century, which eventually lead to the planetary evacuation.

Earth's major cities had an average population of 7-12 million in the 21st-century, as of the late-27th-century the average was 15-35 million. The average person produced ten pounds of garbage daily. This meant the average city produced around ten billion pounds of garbage.
