Earth was a planet crippled with war and scarcity of several resources. By 2078 america was engulfed in a civil war with the New Texan state after it declared independence in December 2076
project beyond[]
In February a British scientist and astronomer calculated Nes findings on the recently unchecked ozone layer and Discovered it was at 30% world wide. This was due to the many wars and chemicals. He also calculated that the layer would only hold for a few more decades before collapsing. He tried to convince his government to build colonization rockets but with no avail as anything the world launched was shot down since everyone was so skeptical about war. He then tried USA but they said no as well, so he pointed out that a total solar eclipse would occur from New England in USA to Nova Scotia in Canada and western Greenland Greenland which got America onboard as it would save their country. Canada soon joined and funding began immediately.
Building[]
the planet chosen was Gliese 832c as by 2060 it was examined to have oxygen and water. each country built ships that would be monitored from Thule airbase, Greenland which was now called Alenoli, but still had U.S. presence. Originally 12 Colony ships were designed but only 3 were finished in time. The USSF Miami, USSF Massachusetts and RCSF Nova Scotia. Each would carry 17 000 people. They all launched on May 1, 2079. Countries immediately detected launch and attempted to shoot but could not locate them due to the interferrance of the eclipse.
The rest of earth[]
america was thrown into several wars after the UN believed that they were missiles and America could not say they were spaceships or else they would have to shut them down if forced. The rest of the world perished slowly as earth slowly became uninhabitable
Vergo 1[]
Vergo 1 was the making of several Chinese, Japanese, British, French, Russian and Ukrainian engineers who would each choose one to go out and recolonise another planet. There would be 300 women and 300 men as the ship was smaller and there was a lack of resources. They launched on June 18 2090, 1 year before humanity died out. They would eventually find out that they were not the only humans left in space. The rest of earth would Die out from the lack of air being caused by ultraviolet light.
