2023[]

November 7: 2023 United States elections

Elections took place on November 7, 2023 as part of the 2023 United States elections. In Kentucky, incumbent governor Andy Beshear defeated Daniel Cameron, while in Mississippi incumbent governor Tate Reeves defeated Brandon Presley.

November 8: SAG-AFTRA strike concludes

After several tense days of deliberations, SAG-AFTRA accepts the studios' latest and 'final' offer, finally concluding the nearly four-month long strike in Hollywood.

November 19: 2023 Argentinian general election

Javier Milei narrowly defeats Sergio Massa of the Renewal Front in the second round of Argentina's general election to be elected the next president of Argentina.

November 22: 2023 Dutch general election

In the 2023 Dutch general election, the Party for Freedom (PVV) win the majority of seats in what is described as a "major political upset", as party leader Geert Wilders becomes the next elected prime minister of the Netherlands, succeeding former VVD party leader Mark Rutte.

November 29: Death of Henry Kissinger

Former United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger was announced to have died at age 100. His death generated mixed reactions by both critics and supporters alike due to his controversial but notable tenure as Secretary of State.

December 1: George Santos expelled from Congress

U.S. Representative George Santos is expelled from Congress after a new vote on the Congressional floor. The vote comes after the recent release of a House Ethics Committee report, accusing Santos of fraud and heavy embezzlement of campaign funds. As a result, Santos becomes the 6th congressman in history to be expelled from Congress. A special election for his district is quickly set to take place in February 2024.

December 19: Donald Trump removed from state ballot in Colorado

In a devastating blow to Donald Trump's 2024 campaign, Colorado Supreme Court rules to remove Trump from the state's ballot for 2024. The decision triggers nationwide shock and outcry, with Republicans across the country denouncing the move. Meanwhile, other state supreme courts also begin similar attempts to remove Trump from their own ballots for 2024.

December 28: Maine rules to remove Trump from state ballot

Maine becomes the 2nd U.S. state to successfully remove Donald Trump from the state's ballot for 2024, in a new ruling from the state's supreme court. This move causes even further outcry and anger from nationwide Republicans.

December 31: Queen Margrethe II abdicates the throne

In a massive surprise, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark abruptly announces during her New Year’s address that she will be stepping down as monarch after 52 years of being on the throne. Crown Prince Frederik is set to be coronated as King Frederik X of Denmark on January 14th.

January 13: 2024 Taiwanese presidential election

Lai Ching-te of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) defeats Hou Yu-ih of the Kuomintang and Ko Wen-je of the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) to become the next elected president of Taiwan.

January 24: Peace unite of Korea is almost impossible

North Korea recognized the impossibility of the peaceful unification of Korea, key government agencies involved in issues of unification and exchanges with Seoul were abolished, residents of South Korea can no longer be called compatriots, and the symbol of unification, the Reunification Arch was demolished.

January 28-February 11: 2024 Finnish general election

Alexander Stubb of the National Coalition Party (NCP) is elected the next Finnish president, narrowly defeating Pekka Haavisto of the Greens in a razor thin margin after the two candidates have gone neck-to-neck in the polls towards the election.

February 5: King Charles III diagnosed with cancer

King Charles III is revealed to be diagnosed with cancer following a recent medical procedure, which stuns many across the globe and sends an outpouring of sympathies towards the UK and the British royal family as a result. Immediately, the king begins treatment while postponing all public appearances for the near future.

February 14: 2024 Indonesian general election

Prabowo Subianto of the Gerindra is elected the next president of Indonesia.

March 4: SCOTUS overturns Colorado state ballot decision

After several days of deliberation, the Supreme Court of the United States rules in favor of Donald Trump on the attempt to remove his name from state ballots in Colorado, Maine, and Illinois, which several days ago ruled to kick Trump off the Republican primary ballot as well. The states are ordered and required to include Trump's name on their state ballots for the upcoming election, triggering minor protests in some regions of the states as a result.

March 7: Sweden Joins NATO

Sweden joined NATO on the 7th of March. It's membership was previously put into question after efforts by Turkey and Hungary were made to block its membership. Sweden's membership secured all of Scandinavia under NATO's thumb.

March 15-17: 2024 Russian presidential election

Incumbent president of Russia Vladimir Putin wins re-election in a landslide vote, in spite of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war. This saw the largest form of defiance against the ruling government since the war began in the form of mass turnout to polling places, and Western governments condemn the rigged results.

April 2: MrBeast overtakes T-Series in YouTube subscribers

On a legendary day for the YouTube community, MrBeast has recently passed T-Series at 271 million subscribers. The event would be largely celebrated among the internet and even PewDiePie would make a video on the battle titled "So MrBeast Passed T-Series...". At this point MrBeast is the most known internet individual, being especially popular among old Gen Alpha (born 2010-2015). The milestone of 300 million subscribers would be reached by MrBeast by the end of the year.

May 19: Death of Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi

Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi is killed in a helicopter crash, believed to have been brought on by heavy fog and bad weather conditions. It sparks very mixed attention across the globe, with several paying their sympathies to the fallen president while others hold mass celebrations in the streets of Iran, shooting off fireworks.

May 29: 2024 South African general election

For the first time since coming to power three decades prior, the African National Congress fails to win a majority of seats in the South African National Assembly. The party forms a grand coalition with the centrist Democratic Alliance, with its leader John Steenhuisen becoming the new Deputy President of South Africa while Cyril Ramaphosa remains President. The new left-wing party uMkhonto weSizwe, led by former president Jacob Zuma, becomes the official opposition.

June 2: 2024 Mexican general election

Claudia Sheinbaum defeats Xochitl Galvez to become the first elected female president of Mexico.

July 4: 2024 United Kingdom General Election

Opposition Leader Sir Keir Starmer defeats Incumbent PM Rishi Sunak despite the Conservatives delaying the elections until the last possible moment. Because Labour didn't receive an outright majority of seats, a coalition is formed with Ed Davey's Liberal Democrats.

July 21: Biden drops out of 2024 presidential election

President Biden announces that he is dropping out of the 2024 presidential election, following increasing calls by fellow Democrats to drop out of the race due to concerns over his health and old age. He endorses Vice President Kamala Harris for the upcoming election, who announces her bid for the presidency that same day.

July 26-August 11: 2024 Summer Olympics

The 2024 Summer Olympics take place in Paris, France. The U.S. takes first place in gold medals won, with 45 gold medals, while China comes in 2nd with 33 medals and Britain comes in third with 26.

August 17: Nusantara inaugurated as new capital of Indonesia

After two years of construction, the planned city of Nusantara is officially inaugurated as the new national capital of Indonesia, with President Pranowo attending the inauguration ceremony. Replacing Jakarta as the capital, the Nusantara project is expected to go through several more phases over the next few decades.

August 19-22: 2024 Democratic National Convention

Vice President Kamala Harris receives the Democratic nomination for the 2024 presidential election at the DNC in Chicago, Illinois, while Minnesota governor Tim Walz is chosen as her running mate.

August 26: Fall of the Gaza Strip

After almost eleven months of conflict in the Gaza Strip, Israel announces the "capitulation of Hamas forces", occupying all of Gaza Strip. Tens of thousands of Palestinians are killed and millions are displaced. Many activists have condemned the war as a genocide, and protests sprung around the world in solidarity of Palestine.

August 30: Myanmar Civil War ends

With the rise in rural resistance groups managing to successfully fight off Tatmadaw troops rising drastically over the last several months, the last of the Tatmadaw troops are finally overthrown as the Myanmar civil war comes to an end as a result, with the State Administration Council being overthrown and abolished and Min Aung Hlaing being deposed and arrested by National Unity Government officials. The NUG once again reassumes office as the official leaders of the country, with Duwa Lashi La becoming officially instated as president of Myanmar.

October 18: Death of King Salman of Saudi Arabia

King Salman of Saudi Arabia is announced to have passed away from natural causes at the age of 88, sending widespread mourning throughout the country. His son, Crown Prince Mohammed, is set to become the next King of Saudi Arabia.

October 27: 2024 Uruguayan presidential election

Yamandu Orsi of the Broad Front (FA) party defeats Alvaro Delgado of the National Party to become the next elected president of Uruguay.

November 3-17: 2024 Romanian presidential election

Mircea Geoana, running as an independent candidate, is elected the next president of Romania after two rounds of voting (the first round occurring on November 3 and the second occurring on November 17), defeating Marcel Ciolacu of the Social Democratic Party (PSD).

November 5: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election

Incumbent vice president Kamala Harris narrowly defeats former president Donald Trump in the 2024 election, becoming the first female and Asian American to assume the presidency. Meanwhile, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West both don't break above 5% of the popular vote. The Democrats retake the House of Representatives while Republicans take West Virginia in the Senate, with Jim Justice taking over Democrat incumbent Joe Manchin’s seat, leaving the chamber with a tie broken by Vice President Pete Buttigieg. This election would signal the beginning of the end of Trump's control over the Republican Party.

December 2: 2024 Canadian snap federal election

Snap federal election occurs in Canada, after Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau dissolved parliament and called for a snap election to take place nearly 2 months prior in October. Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre is elected the next prime minister of Canada, replacing incumbent Trudeau, as the Conservative Party wins a majority of seats in parliament.

December 15: Death of President Jimmy Carter

Former US President Jimmy Carter was announced to have passed away aged 100 in his home in Plains, Georgia, two months and two weeks after his 100th birthday. Carter had been ill for some time and had been receiving hospice care since last February. The news, although not unexpected, was still met with sorrow by most Americans. Carter was the last living president from the Cold War era, and the first president to reach the age of 100. He was preceded in death by his wife, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, nearly 13 months prior.

December 31: Last Generation Alpha person born

With December 31, Generation Alpha would end after 15 years and Generation Beta would start on the January of the next year. Generation Alpha would be known as a very internet-close generation, with even 5-year-olds of the generation already getting tablets or phones from their parents. Meanwhile, the first-Generation Alpha person, a 15-year-old teenage girl born 2010 would give birth to a baby.

2025[]

January 6: Washington D.C. Riots

On the four-year anniversary of the January 6 insurrection and as the 119th United States Congress begins to certify the 2024 elections for Kamala Harris, smaller-scale riots by Trump supporters take place, injuring several people. Notably, Trump himself wasn't involved, despite his numerous attempts to overturn the 2024 election.

March 18: Beginning of the Second Iranian Revolution

Political instability following the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and international demonstrations following the execution of Iranian activist Bahram Rouhani cultivate in a series of riots against the Iranian government, with many opposition groups claiming responsibility. This sparks international attention and renewed calls to donate to opposition groups and establishing a new secular republic in Iran.

April 21: Treaty of Accession 2025

The Treaty of Accession 2025 is signed in Brussels, Belgium. Designated to enter force on January 1, 2027, the treaty allows Ukraine, Moldova, and Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the European Union as new members. 

April 29: Death of King Harald V

King Harald V of Norway was announced to have passed away at age 88 only a day after being hospitalized yet again for his ongoing health issues. His death draws worldwide mourning, as various world leaders pay their respects and condolences to the Norwegian royal family. Crown Prince Haakon, the heir to the Norwegian throne, is set to become the new King of Norway.

May 24: Russo-Ukrainian war ends

After 1,186 days of fighting in Ukraine by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian Armed Forces, on May 25 of the same year, a ceasefire was declared, according peace conference in Switzerland in June of last year. From the same day, the military special operation in Ukraine takes on a form similar to the context that existed until February 24, 2022. In September, in Warsaw, Poland, the Warsaw Protocol will be officially signed between the two states, which will completely stop hostilities in Ukraine, and will continue to contain the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson oblasts by Russia, which is unlikely to create some risks of Russia’s invasion of NATO countries. Ukraine remains alive and continues to develop deeper relations with the west for deals of Post-War reconstruction. Russo-Ukrainian war is technically over, despite Ukraine is still not recognizing to annexation of Crimea, DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson oblasts by Russia.

July 1: Bulgaria joins the Eurozone

Bulgaria officially adopts the euro and becomes a member of the Eurozone, after it's initial intended join date of January 1, 2025 was pushed back to later 2025 in June 2024.

July 15: Windows 12 released

Microsoft would release their brand-new operating system Windows 12. It is similar to Windows 11, but has some new features. Gadgets are brought back with the operating system and a "XP Mode" would also be introduced, a style that looks like the nostalgic Windows XP. Win12 would be regarded as one of the best operating systems, as Windows 11 wasn't entirely succesful, peaking at a market share of 42%.

July 26: Meta is no longer extremist in Russia

After almost three and half years of blocking and ban of Meta, Roskomnadzor announced lifting restrictions and unblocking Facebook and Instagram in Russia, excluding Meta from the list of extremists, although most of Russian users still use VK, OK and other Russian social networks.

August 31: 2025 German federal election

The 2025 German federal election would result in the Great Coalition of the Christian Democrats and Social Democrats, with Markus Söder being the chancellor. Meanwhile, the far-right AfD as well as the newly-founded left-wing BSW would gain good percentages of about 15-20%. The Greens only get 10% of the vote and FDP and The Left are kicked out of the parliament due to low percentages. A party named the Free Voters would also enter the parliament.

September 15-29: 2025 World Friendship Games

The 2024 World Friendship Games take place in Moscow and Ekaterinburg, Russia. This games was planned to held in Septmber 2024, but delayed into 2025. Russia takes first place in gold medals won, with 35 gold medals, while China comes in 2nd with 29 medals and Brazil comes in third with 24.


September 27: 2025 Australian federal election

The Liberal-National Coalition (LNP) manages to win a somewhat upset victory by winning a very narrow majority of seats needed in the House of Representatives, with LNP leader Peter Dutton managing to oust incumbent Anthony Albanese as the prime minister of Australia.

October 15: Abdication of King Charles III

King Charles III suddenly announces his abdication from the throne as King of England due to increasing complications from cancer in the last several months, just a few weeks before his 77th birthday. The news is seen as a massive shock to people worldwide and sparks international attention in the following days. Prince William is set to be coronated the following year as King William V.

October 29: 2025 Japanese general election

In an upset, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) manages to retain their seat majority in the House of Representatives and remain the governing coalition of Japan, despite increasing unpopularity ratings among several people.

November 4: 2025 United States elections

Former U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger defeats Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears to become the next governor of Virginia, while Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop defeats former state assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli to become the next governor of New Jersey.

November 23-December 21: 2025 Chilean general election

During the first round of the Chilean general election, Evelyn Matthei of the Independent Democratic Union (UDI-CV) and Jose Antonio Kast of the Republican Party (PLR) both win enough votes to advance to the second round. Matthei then goes on to wins the second round of the election and becomes president of Chile, defeating Kast.

2026[]

February 2: End of the Second Iranian Revolution

After almost a year of intensified violence in Iran, the Islamic Republic is overthrown, replaced with a transitional sovereignty council lead by opposition groups. Sharia law is lifted and women are no longer forced to wear hijabs in public. This leads to a new constitution created in Iran in November as well as various counter-revolutionary movements emerging in many Middle Eastern countries, including in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

February 6-22: 2026 Winter Olympics

The 2026 Winter Olympics take place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. The U.S. takes first place in gold medals won, with 38 gold medals, while China comes in 2nd with 32 medals and Britain comes in third with 21.

April 1: Trump announces retirement

Former President Donald Trump announces he will not be seeking the presidency in 2028, leaving uncertainty as to who will succeed him as leader of his movement. The increasingly frail and unhealthy former statesman had been elected President in 2016 before losing both the 2020 and 2024 elections. Many initially mistake the announcement as an April Fools joke, but it is confirmed later to be real.

April 6: Social Media platform X renames back to Twitter

Although Elon Musk’s tenure as the head of social media company X was not a total failure, his gradual departure from 2024-25 was seen as inevitable. With his absence, it was decided to revert back to X’s original name of Twitter to help with marketing and branding.

May 6: Electro Swing music and "The Roaring Twenties" culture gained huge popularity.

It's all due to 100th anniversary of the Roaring Twenties in the 1920s. Wolfgang Lohr, The Electro Swing Circus and DelaDap becomes the first Electro Swing artists, that their singles arrived in annual Billboard 100 and Billboard Global 200 charts. More bands and solo singers begin to release Electro Swing songs and artwork. More people will going and throwing The Great Gatsby-inspired parties, than ever before to have a good time.

May 23: Coronation of King William V

Prince William is coronated at Westminster Abbey in England as King William V, with millions of people in attendance personally. The ceremony is also televised and live-streamed worldwide, garnering millions more of viewers.

June 11-July 19: 2026 FIFA World Cup

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is hosted in North America, with the Mexico national football team ultimately defeating the United States men's national soccer team to win the World Cup.


July 14: YouTube is unblocked in Russia

After almost 2 years since YouTube's blocking in Russia began in September 2024, Roskomnadzor officially announced the lifting of restrictions on the operation of YouTube, although the majority of Russian users have long since switched to the Russian video hosting sites such as Platforma, Rutube, Yandex Video and VK Video.

July 27: Syrian Civil war ends

In Syria, the civil war has progressed to a point where there are only two major factions left: The Federal Government and the Kurds. With the war bogging down into a stalemate, Both sides agree to the treaty of Aleppo, which will end the civil war after more than a decade of fighting. The Kurds gain significant autonomy but are not fully independent, and both sides will work towards crushing the last rebel pockets in Syria. Turkey is quite concerned by this, as it fears Kurds gaining power in one country will inspire Kurds in other countries to also work towards independence.

September 15: Artemis 3 crewed lunar landing

Artemis 3 lands on the moon 4 days after its initial take-off from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, making it the first crewed lunar landing to take place in nearly 54 years. The news draws worldwide attention and applause from many in the space community, and President Harris congratulates the astronauts that night on TV for their successful efforts in landing on the moon again after over half a century, while technological advancement, that slowly developed in early-2020s, drastically improved after the end of Artemis 3 mission.

October 24: Death of Clarence Thomas

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas suddenly dies at age 78 after being hospitalized only a day prior for a lung infection. Immediately, President Harris seeks to find a liberal replacement for him.

November 3: 2026 United States Elections

The Democrats expand their majority in the Senate, narrowly winning North Carolina with U.S. representative Wiley Nickel defeating Republican incumbent Thom Tillis in an upset, and keep a majority of seats in the House of Representatives due to a dysfunctional Republican Party. Major issues include abortion, trans discrimination, and climate change. Like in 2024, many states are forced to redraw their congressional maps due to gerrymandering and racial discrimination.

November 5: Formation of Freedom Party

Following the disastrous results of the 2026 U.S. midterms for the Republican Party, several hardline conservative/Trumpist Republicans who're still remaining in Congress announce the formation of the Freedom Party, a far-right political party.

November 19: Nigel Farage becomes leader of UK Conservative Party

Following the resignation of Kemi Badenoch as leader of the opposition and leader of the Conservative Party, Nigel Farage is elected to succeed her in both positions. Farage had become a member of the Conservative Party in 2024 and was elected to parliament in a by-election in 2025 to placate the “new right” faction of the party. Farage’s popularity with the membership led to his unlikely victory in the final round over moderate Penny Mordaunt.

November 21: Death of Pope Francis

Less than a month before his birthday, Pope Francis dies from natural causes at the age of 89, sending shockwaves throughout the world with many global leaders paying their respects for the late pope. The College of Cardinals later announces that they will convene on November 29th to elect a new pope.

November 29: Election of Pietro Parolin as the new Pope

Following the death of his close ally Pope Francis, Pietro Parolin is elected Pope as a result of his liberal convictions. A liberal reformist, Parolin was elected over arch-conservative rival Robert Sarah by the College of Cardinals. Parolin takes the papal name of Paul VII, in honour of his liberal predecessor Paul VI.

2027[]

January 1: Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina become members of the European Union

The Treaty of Accession, which was signed in 2025, goes into effect on the 1st of January, resulting in Ukraine, Moldova, and Bosnia and Herzegovina becoming the 28th, 29th, and 30th members of the European Union, respectively.

January 7: Sri Srinivasan appointed to Supreme Court

U.S. Senate confirms Kamala Harris' nomination of Sri Srinivasan to Clarence Thomas' former Supreme Court seat, leaving the Supreme Court with a narrow conservative majority of 5-4.

April 8-23: 2027 French presidential election

Marine Le Pen defeats Emanuel Macron to become the first elected female president of France.

May 1: GTA VI is released

The beginning of May would see the release of GTA VI, the brand new game to the Grand Theft Auto series. It would be regarded as one of the best games of the 2020s, among other games like Among Us and a new popular game titled "Skull Racing". Rockstar Games would however, also announce this would be the last game to the GTA series, although fans still hope for GTA VII.

August 23: Death of Joe Biden

Former U.S. President Joe Biden was pronounced dead a few hours after going into cardiac arrest at his home in Delaware. The news sent shockwaves across the nation, with many people, including current President Harris and Vice President Buttigieg, paying their respects for the late former president through social media.

October 13: Independence of Bougainville

After voters in Bougainville voted for independence in a referendum in 2019, Papua New Guinea withdraws from the island, allowing a new government to be formed. Bougainville elects Ishmael Toroama is its inaugural president.

November 2: 2027 United States Elections

Gubernatorial elections took place in Kentucky and Mississippi as part of the 2027 U.S. elections. In Kentucky, state senator Max Wise defeats incumbent Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman in a mild upset, while in Mississippi, Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann defeats former Democratic candidate Brandon Presley.

December 8: Death of Alexander Lukashenko

President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus is pronounced dead at 73 following major complications from a recent stroke. This triggers a major power vacuum throughout the country as a result, with neighboring Russia immediately seeking to have the country join them.

December 17: International recognition of Somaliland

The United Nations General Assembly votes on a matter to recognize the sovereignty of Somaliland, as the Somali Civil War had been effectively under a ceasefire for over a year. Several countries, including France, the United Kingdom, the United States and Russia vote in favor of international sovereignty for Somaliland.

2028[]

March 25: Death of former British monarch King Charles III

Former British monarch Charles III passes away in Buckingham Palace at age 79 due to severe cancer complications. Despite seemingly entering remission several months ago, medical reports released at the time of his death confirm that his cancer had recently returned in a much more aggressive form and was now starting to spread throughout other parts of his body. The passing of the former king sends further shockwaves throughout the world as the U.K. launches into a period of mourning for the fallen monarch, for the second time in a decade. Numerous world leaders, including U.S. President Harris, give their condolences and sympathies to the U.K.

July 11: NASA Dragonfly is launched

NASA Dragonfly will be the first drone mission to Saturn's moon Titan, but will take 8 years to reach Saturn until 2036, and mission objective is to explore the surface and look possibilities of life in Titan.

July 14-30: 2028 Summer Olympics

The 2028 Summer Olympics take place in Los Angeles, California. The U.S. takes first place in gold medals won, with 45 gold medals, while Britain comes in 2nd with 29 medals and China comes in third with 27.

August 8: End of the Third Sudanese Civil War

Though many sources debate on when the Third Sudanese Civil War started, the war ended on August 8 after many months of decline within the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which intensified after Hemedti died on June 25, resulting in factionalism within the RSF. With the victory of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), the country overgoes a period of transition with support from Egypt and Ukraine.

September 26: Artemis 4 lunar landing

Artemis 4 lands on the moon nearly 4 days after its initial take-off from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, and marks a major advancement in the progress of the Lunar Gateway extraterrestrial space station.

October 30: Belarus joins Russia

The country of Belarus joins Russia to form Eurasian Union in near future, following intense international pressure from Putin’s Kremlin. Since the death of Alexander Lukashenko the previous year, Belarus had been in a state of uncertainty and instability. Russian occupation is met largely positively. While Harris wins a clear majority of the popular vote, due to the GOP vote being split between Haley and Boebert (with Boebert winning nearly 10% of the popular vote), the Electoral College results are the closest in living memory since the 2000 presidential election, intensifying calls to abolish the Electoral College. Harris’ re-election is met largely negatively due to her unpopularity, and Republicans retook the House, making Lisa McClain the Speaker of the House. The 2030 Winter Olympics take place in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur and Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France. Norway takes first place in gold medals won, with 17 gold medals, while Germany comes in 2nd with 16 medals and the U.S. comes in third with 11.

May 2: 2030 United Kingdom General Election

Labour Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is re-elected as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom with an expanded majority, defeating the Conservatives led by Nigel Farage. Farage resigns as leader and is replaced by former Prime Minister Boris Johnson as leader of the opposition. Johnson had stood as an MP in the 2030 election and many conservatives heralded his return to parliament and the leadership.

May 19: Impeachment of Kamala Harris fails

The Republican controlled House of Representatives adopt two articles of impeachment against Harris. She is later acquitted by the Senate on May 19, 2030. The incident dents her popularity further, causing her to announce she won’t seek another term in 2032.

November 5: 2030 United States Elections

Republicans manage to gain seats in the House and even score a new Senate seat by flipping Nevada in a minor upset. However, the Democrats still maintain their Senate majority, but by a much smaller margin than the last midterms in 2026. It is believed that the red wave in the midterms was motivated by President Harris' declining popularity levels, as well as increasing party fatigue.

It has been announced that former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is resigning due to old age, and will no longer be able to be re-elected for a fourth term. After this, a Democratic Revolution against the Venezuelan government has begun, with many opposition groups claiming responsibility. This sparks international attention and renewed calls to donate to opposition groups and establishing a new democratic republic in Venezuela.

January 28: Yahoo shuts down

After nearly two decades of being overshadowed by Google, the search engine Yahoo would officially shut down by January 28. The event would be a shock to the internet, with many millennials making goodbye videos to the once-popular search engine. At this time, Google is still very dominant, with the biggest rivals being Bing, DuckDuckGo and a new rising website named EncySearch, which combines elements of Google and Wikipedia.

July 10: End of the Venezuelan Democratic Revolution

After 6 months of intensified violence in Venezuela, the authoritarian regime is overthrown and United Socialist Party of Venezuela is dissolved, replaced with a transitional sovereignty council lead by opposition groups. Tough laws is lifted and crime level in country is drastically decreased. This leads to a new constitution created in Venezuela in October as well as various democratic movements emerging in Cuba.

The 2032 Summer Olympics take place in Brisbane, Australia. The U.S. takes first place in gold medals won, with 46 gold medals, while China comes in 2nd with 31 medals and Britain comes in third with 25.

November 2: 2032 U.S. Presidential Election

Indiana Senator Todd Young defeats Vice President Tim Walz. This is the first election since 2004 where Republicans won both the popular vote and the electoral college. A notable third-party run from former U.S. representative Brace Belden splits the Democratic vote. Freedom Party candidate Lauren Witzke failed to get over 5% of the popular vote, severely weakening the party. The GOP at this point significantly moderated its stances on abortion and gay marriage, helping to secure many independent voters. Because of this, the GOP also managed to secure more seats in the House, narrowly flipping the House majority to Republican as a result, as well as winning Senate seats in crucial swing states such as Georgia, Michigan, and North Carolina.

April 30: Formation of The Decency and Respect for All Movement

The Decency and Respect for All Movement is announced by several pro-LGBTQ+ activists who formed the movement, which comes in the very recent wake of a mass shooting at an LGBTQ+ bar in Cincinnati on April 22nd that left 8 people dead. The movement is dedicated to pushing back against homophobia, transphobia, and other anti-LGBTQ rhetoric nationwide, as well as promote more equality and civil rights for the LGBTQ+ community. The movement quickly garners nationwide attention as it garners widespread support from numerous Democratic politicians, as well as other activists, celebrities, and influencers.

President Vladimir Putin of Russia is pronounced dead at 83 following major complications from heart attack, 5 days later after he was admitted to the Kremlin hospital on the day the last presidential term ended. This triggers a major power vacuum throughout the country as a result, and the Democratic Revolution and republican transition period in Russia begins.

June 20: The proclamation of the Great Russian Republic

The democratic revolution in Russia officially ended with the overthrow of the authoritarian regime and the proclamation of the Great Russian Republic with a democratic government. Numerous political and economic reforms have been carried out, turning from a developing state into a highly developed state, and relations with the USA, UK, EU, Japan, South Korea and Australia have significantly improved. Diplomatic relations between Ukraine, Georgia and Russia were also restored after 14- and 28-year breaks. At the flagpole of the Senate Palace, a white-blue-white flag (which was used by Russian protesters in anti-war protests during the Russian-Ukrainian war) was raised to replace Peter the Great's tricolor. The anthem of Free Russia has been officially approved. The Republic of Belarus as part of Russia also approved the white-red-white flag (1991-1995) and the “Pahonia” coat of arms. The first general elections in Russia not related to the Putin regime were held. The recently created liberal democratic party Freedom of Russia won the general election, gaining more seats than the former United Russia party in the State Duma. Sergei Mikhailovich becomes the first President of Russia not related to Putin regime.

Democrat Jon Ossoff defeats incumbent President Todd Young, winning both the popular vote and the Electoral College. At this point, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact has reached the 270 threshold, but has yet to be ratified. Ossoff is widely regarded as the "Fourth Camelot" due to his passionate speeches on gun violence and transgender rights, the latter of which was backed by supporters of the widespread Decency and Respect for All Movement. Under Todd Young, deregulation caused an economic downfall and gun violence soared, especially after Donald Trump's death and his refusal to pass any form of gun restriction laws has contributed to his defeat. The Democrats also win sizable majorities in both chambers of Congress, managing to flip the House and nearly taking back the Senate, flipping back Nevada.

Exactly two months after Jon Ossoff's inauguration, former president George W. Bush is announced to have passed away in his sleep at age 90, at the Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas, where he had mostly been living after leaving the White House. His death winds up gathering international attention, given Bush's role as serving as president of the U.S. while leading the country through 9/11 and the start of the War on Terror. Despite the heavily mixed views of Bush's presidency, many worldwide figures, including President Ossoff, pay their respects to the former president and give their condolences to the Bush family.

The Y2038 bug scare reaches its critical peak point, as numerous systems across the globe are affected and abruptly shut down due to computing errors caused by the bug. Within less than a week, most of the systems are successfully restored.

June 11: House passes Puerto Rico, Pacific and Washington D.C. statehood acts

The U.S. House of Representatives passes acts granting statehood to Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. as well as the heavily populated territories in the Pacific, making them the 51st, 52nd and 53rd states of the United States. The acts are then passed on to the Senate and later on to President Ossoff, both of whom approve of the notion.

August 13: Puerto Rico, Mariana and Washington D.C. admitted into the Union as states

Puerto Rico, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, and Washington D.C. are both admitted into the union as the 51st, 52nd and 53rd states, respectively. Guam and the Marianas are admitted as the united State of “Mariana” while Washington D.C. is renamed "Douglass Commonwealth" as a result of the admission, and the U.S. flag gets a new, albeit slightly different, design, with three more stars being added to represent the now 53 states. The Reapportionment Act of 1929 is also repealed during the process, allowing for the number of seats in the House of Representatives to expand to include new congressional seats for representatives from Puerto Rico, Mariana, and Douglass Commonwealth.

The first manned mission to Mars takes place, being carried out by SpaceX. The mission takes place over the course of four months, with the spacecraft being launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida in late June and landing on Mars in early November, after just over 4 months of. The landing is televised and livestreamed internationally, becoming one of the most-watched events of the 21st century.
