The United States presidential election of 2044 was the 65th quadrennial American presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 8, 2040.
This election served as a monumental moment in American political history, as the American Identitarian Party was victorious in several states, against the mainstream Democratic and Republican tickets.
Primaries[]
California Governor Michael Tubbs earned the Democratic Party's nomination and selected Florida Representative Emma Gonzalez as his running mate.
Maryland Representative Chelsea Follett earned the Republican Party's nomination and selected NRA President Kyle Kashuv, a classmate of Emma Gonzalez.
The American Identitarian Party selected Nathan Damigo as their nominee, who selected John "MouthyBuddha" Canales as his running mate.
General Election[]
Tubbs and Gonzales, and incredibly popular duo, easily gained the victory in the election, picking up wins in Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and California. Tubbs and Gonzales echoed the Jeffries administration's messages, and gained just as many supporters as Jeffries did for the Democratic Party. Follett and Kashuv only won 14 states, as Damigo and Canales won in West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama - making history; as the looming growth of the party was seemingly made official.
In 2045, President Tubbs and Vice President Gonzales formally announced the federal government's disavowal of the American Identitarian Party, and signed an executive order labeling the party a hate group - resulting in ultimate impossible ballot access.
This led to widespread riots in the south and midwest United States, where several local and state government officials were assassinated.
After the deployment of the National Guard, all top officials of the American Identitarian Party were arrested, and charged with various ranging crimes in relation to the incident. The party claimed that it would be "back" in 2048, warning of worse violence if they were not recognized on ballots. After widespread intimidation, the American Identitarian Party was allowed on ballots for the 2046 midterms, where the Party won 3 seats in the Senate, and 8 seats in the House of Representatives.
