The 2040 United States presidential election was the 62nd quadrennial election in the American presidential election. The Progressive nominee, Jesse Mendova, defeated Democratic nominee Thomas Henderson and Republican nominee Sophia Hancover in a landslide victory. Mendova took office as the 49th president of the United States on January 21st, 2041.
Mendova was the main runner-up of the Progressive Party, a new and growing party that is facing competition with the Republican and Democratic parties, along with the Libertarian Party. The main goal of Jesse Mendova was to enact society reforms by government, as his slogan was "Reborn, Retry, and Reconnect.", meaning for the rebirth of society, as well as retrying for the past mistakes and reconnecting the values of society. As a result, Mendova was sworn in as the Progressive ticket.
Henderson was sworn in as the primary for the Democratic ticket, due to his slogan: "American Dreams Come True", referring to the American dream of patriotism, nationality, and equality. Henderson's slogan made his rise swift, as he was a minority in the Democratic Party. His plan was to enact the plan of free healthcare, free university, and free dentalcare.
Hancover was primaried by the Republican party, due to her plans to lower the tax rate, as well as reform America as it was during Reagan times, albeit a better economy. Hancover also promised another plan, to tighten the border security in Canada and Mexico. Due to a flock of illegal immigration, Hancover plans to increase border security, as well as build mines across the borderlines to end the immigration.
