The 2028 United States Presidential Election was the 61st Presidential Election in the United States. Held on November 7, 2028 it saw the largest landslide since Reagan in 1984 with JD Vance receiving 485 electoral votes to Gavin Newsom's 53 electoral votes. JD also won the popular vote by a 25 point margin. JD Vance got 93,900,000 votes to Newsom's 61 million votes. This contributed to the landslide. California voted Republican in this election breaking its status as a Safe Democratic State and voting Republican for the 1st time since 1988.

The 2028 United States Presidential Election was the 2nd one held after the reapportionment conducted after the 2020 Presidential Election. In that Election California's electoral vote total dropped from 55 to 54. Reapportionment would be conducted again after the 2030 Census.

BREAKING NEWS... ABC can now make more projections in the election. Starting off with New Jersey with its 14 electoral votes, we can project that JD Vance has won New Jersey. The Republicans have flipped New Jersey by 17 points in a historic upset for the Democrats. We can also project Wisconsin and Michigan. These states are projected for JD Vance. Vance has won Wisconsin and Michigan by 15 points each. We can also project that the State of Maine and Maine's 1st District have gone to Newsom by slim margins of 2 and 1.9 points respectively. We can also project the States of Arizona and Nevada for JD Vance. Vance won Nevada by a 22 point margin and he won Arizona by a 19 point margin. As I mentioned earlier, this election was the largest landslide since Reagan in 1984. The Democratic Party struggled to maintain their power and in 2036 the Democratic party finally collapsed. The likely cause of this collapse was the results of the 2028 Presidential Election. Los Angeles County usually a democratic stronghold had enough and voted Republican by a 4 point margin in this election. In the end the United States survived but it would not last forever. In 2100 the Yellowstone Caldera erupted triggering a mass killing of tens of millions of Americans causing the US to collapse. The world's best country now was in ruins and would last that way for decades. More notable flips include the city of San Diego which flipped Republican by a 5 point margin. In the end JD Vance won with an astonishing 485 electoral votes to 53 for Gavin Newsom.
Aftermath[]
After the Election the Democratic Party collapsed as the defeat was the final deathblow for the Democratic Party. A new political party would arise from its ashes. However the new party would never be the same as the Democratic Party. The new party appealed to the working Americans but Republicans continued to maintain their advantage in Presidential Elections until the end of the United States on November 17, 2100 when Yellowstone finally erupted ending most of the United States and pushing humanity to the brink of extinction.
