Background[]
After over 150 years of existence, the Republican Party met its demise in 2026 over internal fighting over Trump's legacy and where to take the party. Coming from this were two parties, the New Republican Party, the GOP's more moderate wing, and the Americans First party, the GOP's more conservative wing including Trumpists, but not limited to them. These parties would split the conservative vote in numerous states, allowing for Castro to be re-elected in a landslide number. Some states also saw the Democrats and New Republicans split the vote as they were the more moderate tickets.
