The 2028 United States presidential election was the 61st quadrennial presidential election, held on November 7, 2028.
The Democratic Ticket of Incumbent President Kamala Harris of California and her running mate, Vice President Michael Johnston of Colorado defeated the Republican Ticket of Former Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida and his running mate, United States Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee. Harris and Johnston would be inaugurated for a second term on January 20, 2029, as President and Vice President respectfully.
This election was the first election where Washington D.C was a state, becoming the 52nd State in 2026.
