The 2022 US Senate Elections were held on November 8, 2022 along with gubernatorial, house and other elections.

The Republicans gained the majority of the senate again, gaining Arizona with Meghan McCain, Nevada with Joe Heck and New Hampshire with Kelly Ayote.

In the 2020 Senate Elections, Republican senate leader Mitch McConnell was defeated by his democratic opponent in the Kentucky election. The new Republican senate leader became U.S. Senator John Corbyn of Texas on January 3, 2021.

The 2022 midterm elections were considered the "Red Tsunami" as the Republicans gained the Senate, as well as the House and Governorships. Turnout among conservatives was high due to fear of President Sanders policies.

Special Elections[]

They were two special elections this year, one in Massachusetts and Oregon. U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) became members of President Sanders cabinet. Warren's seat was replaced with U.S. representative Joe Kennedy III and Merkley's seat was replaced with former SOS of Oregon Jeanne Atkins. In Massachusetts, Kennedy easily won the special election against Scott Brown. However in Oregon, Atkins retired and Governor Kate Brown won the Special election and became the second Bisexual to become an U.S. Senator, behind Kristen Simena (D-AZ).
