The 2022 Midterm elections took place Tuesday, November 8th, 2022. With Incumbent President Joe Biden achieving a very modest approval rating, being underwater previously back in April after the North Korean Missile Crisis. Since then however, he has made gains, and the Senate has been more in play with a previously 50/50 majority coming in from the 2020 results. The redistricting in many house races has created many districts for the democrats and republicans to gain, but the democrats and believed to have a narrow advantage. The Republicans are believed to lose seats in the gubernatorial races, but still retain a majority.
Senate[]
The Democrats gained many senate seats, expanding on their previous 50/50 tie in the 2020 Senate Elections. Incumbent Majority Leader Chuck Schumer however was primaried to lose his seat, and Mitch McConnell retired as Minority leader with Senator John Kennedy taking up his position.
