The 2020 United States presidential election was the 59th quadrennial national election. Incumbent Donald Trump from 2016 lost the elections against the Democratic ticket, Elizabeth Warren and her running mate Cory Booker. Elizabeth Warren took office in 2021, becoming the 46th president of America.
Backstory[]
Trade War[]
The Trade War between the United States of America and the Peoples Republic of China was a economic war in which tariffs and trade barriers were placed around the American country, as China sought the same idea. Later on, Trump declined in approval ratings because of economic declination. Both presidents from both nations agreed to meet in Beijing, where the trade war would end.
The Wall Construction[]
The Wall construction across the Mexican border was another backstory to how Elizabeth Warren became the new incumbent. The Wall was caused by the immigration process, where many illegal Mexicans crossed the borders with illegal items and no passports.
The wall spread hatred across many Americans, as well as many of Trump's supporters. The Republican Party ditched Trump on his idea to build the wall. This concludes to a sudden drop of approval ratings, from 41% to 37%.
Syrian-Afghanistani Incident[]
The withdrawal of troops from both conflicts lead to the GOP rebuking Trump for these actions, because Trump suddenly declared a withdrawal of forces due to defeating ISIS badly, as they were still existent.
A letter was sent to President Trump, written by James N. Mattis, stating clearly that treating allies with respect, and also being clear-eyed about malign actors and competitors are strongly held.
Official Declaration of Bernie Sanders Running in 2020[]
Vermont independent Senator Bernie Sanders officially declares his run in the 2020 United States presidential election for the Democratic Party of the United States. He pledged to run as a Democrat if he wins the presidency in 2020.
