Trump defeated Democratic U.S Senator and Eat the rich Socialist Bernie Sanders in a landslide. Due to Americans resisting socialism in large numbers, Trump was able to win the popular vote in the landslide.

The only states Trump was unable to carry where California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland and Vermont. He also lost the District of Columbia.
