The 2020 United States presidential election was the 59th quadrennial presidential election, held on November 3, 2020. It was held alongside, senate, house, gubernatorial and local elections.

The Democratic nominee, Governor Steve Bullock of Montana defeated the Republican nominee, President Donald Trump of New York and Green Party nominee, Alan Augustson of Illinois.

Bullock won in a landslide due to the economic recession happening at the time and him having a popular figure on the progressive left Tulsi Gabbard as his running mate. Bullock would run on combating climate change, lowering military spending, legalizing marijuana and healing the divide between the left and the right in the country. President Trump would campaign on the economy up until the recession occurred in September, Trump later would switch the conversion to Immigration, but the President wasn't able to win back his voters from the Midwest. Augustson would focus his campaign on the ideas of Bernie Sanders, such as medicare-for-all, free college, $15 minimum wage and also campaigning to combat climate change.

Bullock would be the first Democrat to win Arizona since 1996, the first to win Montana since 1992 and the first to win North Carolina since 2008. Bullock would expand his margin in the next election, winning Georgia, Ohio, Texas and Alaska.
