The 2020 United States Presidential Election was the 59th quadrennial presidential election, held on November 3, 2020, along with other elections such as gubernatorial, house, senate and local elections.

The Democratic Nominee, U.S Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont defeated the Republican Nominee, Incumbent President Donald Trump of New York and the Libertarian Nominee, U.S Representative Justin Amash. Sanders would become the oldest President at 79 and the first Jewish president, however Trump would become the first President since George H. W. Bush not to be re-elected.

The main issues of this election were the Early 2020s Finical Crisis, the Trade War and Climate Change.

Background[]

Incumbent President Donald J. Trump was elected in 2016 defeated his opponent Hillary Clinton. During his presidency, the Economy did amazingly until March 2020, when the Early 2020s Finical Crisis started. Trump was mostly to blame for the recession and his approval ratings dropped to the 20s and 30s.

Trump would also lose many fiscal conservative voters to the Libertarian Party, because of the Trade Wars and the Recession.
