In 7 November 2020, 3:25 AM ET, State of California finally gave its 55 electoral votes to Hassam-Al-Khamir, a presidential candidate of the Democrat Party. But the results have shown that Donald Trump will be reelected with 312 electoral votes. To formalize the results, the congress will meet on 2 January 2021 to talk about their votes.
Regarding to electoral votes, an elector who will refuse to vote for the winning candidate of their state will be considered as a "faithless elector".
